Chief Executive Officer
Mark Dwyer has been named chief executive officer of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, which provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services through its hospitals in St. Louis and St. Peters. Mark began his career in rehabilitation as a physical therapist, has served in a variety of rehabilitation leadership roles throughout his 30-year career. Most recently, he served as the director of rehabilitation services and sports medicine at an acute care hospital in Kansas. On top of his responsibilities as a healthcare leader, Mark served as an adjunct instructor and lecturer for physical therapy students in the university setting. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and a master’s degree in health services administration with a concentration in outcomes from Kansas University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
David Carr, M.D.
Dr. Carr, medical director of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, is the Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Professor of Geriatric Medicine and professor of medicine and neurology at Washington University at St. Louis. He is a board-certified internist and geriatrician, serves as the clinical director of the Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Science and is a clinician in the Washington University Memory Diagnostic Center. Dr. Carr is actively involved in the daily operations of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
David Carr, M.D. is an independent physician.
Plant Operations Director
Nick serves as the director of plant operations. He brings 10 years of facilities engineering and environmental health and safety expertise in manufacturing and healthcare to The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. Nick received his degree in electrotechnical engineering from LaValette Toulon, France.
Julie serves as the hospital’s controller and brings nine years of healthcare experience. Her experience includes varying levels of administration, human resources and, staff development/leadership training, with a focus in finance and overall operations. She joined The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in March 2014. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master's degree in business administration and healthcare management from West Texas A&M University.
Tracie Lee-Lambert, M.S.W.
Business Development Director
Tracie serves as the director of admissions and marketing operations. She received her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and her master's degree in social work from the University of Texas-Austin. Tracie brings more than 30 years of healthcare and 25 years of acute rehab expertise to The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
Brendan Tanner, P.T., D.P.T., N.C.S.
Director of Therapy Operations
Brendan has practiced as a licensed physical therapist for 11 years. Since 2003, he has served at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in the roles of staff physical therapist, center coordinator for clinical education (CCCE), and therapy manager for the spinal cord injury and orthopedics programs. He received his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master's and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2011, he received board certification as a Neurologic Certified Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Angie serves as the director of quality and risk management. She has more than ten years of healthcare experience specifically at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
Director of Case Management
Deb Wilke joined the HealthSouth team in December 2013. She brings more than 36 years of nursing and management experience to her role of director of case management. Prior to joining HealthSouth, she held the positions of manager of case management, St. Louis SSM Health Care system, and was the director of emergency services for two St. Louis Community Hospitals. Deb received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Master of Science in Nursing from Webster University in St. Louis, MO.
